What You Need To Know About Psoriasis

Psoriasis develops due to genetic autoimmune factors causing your body to produce excess skin cells too fast. The excess skin cells cause scaly patches to develop on your elbows, knees, scalp, and other areas. The psoriasis patches often cause severe itching. Dermatologists classify psoriasis into three types, which are mild, moderate, or severe, depending on what percentage of your body is affected by psoriasis.

If you have mild psoriasis, which affects less than 3% of your body, common dermatology treatments include:
